“You know, funny thing about that, actually.
I thought I did um, as you put it, ‘destroy’
him. Turns out—I didn’t! Complete accident
to be honest. Nice to know you haven’t
seen him though. Comforting.”
“That is quite the funny story. Though
perhaps you shouldn’t be at all
comforted — doesn’t not knowing where
he is worry you? Just because I’ve not
seen him doesn’t mean he isn’t here. Or
I could be lying to you. He could be right
behind you, angry about that little
complete accident.”
The creature’s lips draw back in a snarl,
revealing rows of sharpened teeth. Its
fingernails grow into claws, raising its
hands as if a cat preparing to leap.
Instead, the Ifrit chuckles, putting its hands
behind its back once more, a pleasant
smile hiding the creature’s teeth again.
“Or, I could assist you. Destroying people is my specialty.”
